Hotel
The hotel is a sacred place. It is a place of hospitality and rest for the traveler. Kinship Landing is a creative boutique hotel in Downtown Colorado Springs. The founding team of three friends had a common vision, to create a hotel based on belonging and adventure. They began building the concept of a new kind of hotel in 2017 that was a unique combination of the communal nature of a hostel, the design aesthetic of boutique hotels, and the hospitality they had experienced traveling throughout Europe.
Kinship Landing opened in 2021 after navigating the barriers of cost increases and construction delays throughout the pandemic. Kinship Landing has been recognized by local, national, and international publications including Conde Nast, Fodor’s, and Sunset for their creativity and innovation in the hospitality industry. One publication described Kinship as, “… a place for travelers of all types to launch from and land.”
“We want Kinship to be a community asset that teaches travelers how to be locals,” said founding team member, Nate Grimm. The hope is for the hotel to influence travelers to care more for the place they are visiting and the place they call home. Kinship was created as a hotel not only for welcoming adventurous travelers, but serving as a place of belonging for locals.
The uniqueness of Kinship Landing is how they create a place of hospitality for the community and the visitor. The main floor serves both as a lobby for those staying at the hotel, and community hub in Downtown Colorado Springs. The beautiful sunlit Greenhaus is where locals and travelers interact with each other. It is a place where both the pilgrim and the parishioner feel like they belong.
The ultimate goal of Kinship is to be a hotel of outrageous hospitality. A place where you encounter belonging, friendship, and trust. A hotel can be more than just a place to stay and sleep when visiting a city. Kinship Landing practices hospitality in a way that makes a hotel a sacred place.
