Going to the gym is great for your body, but it’s also great for your mind.
— Rory Mcllory

The gym is a sacred place. For those who revel in being physically fit that statement resonates. But for those without a history of habits in exercise, the gym may feel like walking into a church for those without any experience or exposure to faith. It may be sacred, but it mostly feels foreign and daunting enough to never enter the doors. That is what Patrick Grant wanted to change when he opened Paragon Fitness.

Patrick Grant found himself offering nutrition, health, and fitness practices to friends and family for decades. Fifteen years into his professional career, he chose to leverage his lifelong passion into a business and open a gym. Paragon Fitness opened in southwest Littleton to be a welcoming place where people could improve their physical health. The goal was to create a gym without an ego. A place where everyone, regardless of experience, would be welcome.

Paragon’s vision is to be a community hub with a focus on fitness. A place where neighbors with a shared value of health could connect. Their mission is to build a community of healthy families and individuals through fitness and wellness education. Their passion is in the power of fitness to empower individuals, allowing them to elevate their quality of life.

Paragon facilitates individual and small group training to ensure every person has the direction they need to see the improvements they desire become reality. They have built a team of trainers who each have areas of specialty and personal experience from Pilates to power-lifting, all with a common goal and shared vision of being a part of an individual seeing real life improvements.

“Training comes with a high level of vulnerability,” said Patrick Grant. “Everyone has a deeper story about their health and desire for strength.” The stories that inspire him are mothers rebuilding confidence and energy after birthing children, or couples in their 60’s and 70’s finding a quality of life with increased strength and mobility. It is how a gym can be a place not only of physical training, but also personal transformation.

Cultivating a life of physical health can be challenging, but a good trainer and local gym can help. The gym is a place you practice how to care for your body. The gym can also be place where you learn how much your body is connected to your soul. The gym is a sacred place.
