Holy Week

Jesus,

How do we remember rightly:
Your last week,
Your last words?

May we see You:
Making a meal into a sacred moment,
Serving others with only hours left to live,
Crying out honest prayers in the darkness,
Enduring abandonment,
Of being the infinite alone.

May we see ourselves:
Beside You at a meal,
Asleep while You pray,
Running away in fear,
And haunted by our words,
“I never knew Him”.

May we see the mystery:
Of bread and wine,
The cross and grave,
As the revelation of divine love,
And the redemption of the world.

May we remember this week
Not only in our memory,
But in how we live each moment:
Your life.
Your words.
Your love.
