“In Your tender compassion, the morning sun has risen upon us…”
Our Father in Heaven,
May sunrise light
The brilliant beams of Creation’s color:
Pale peach, dusty orange, candy pink, and ruby red
Announce with holy hues
The arrival of this new day.
May sunrise light
Never lose its mystery and majesty,
To awaken our souls from sleep
And arouse our hearts, minds, and bodies
To wonder and worship.
May sunrise light
Be a constant cosmic reminder—
Your mercy is new every morning,
As we wake into this wonder-filled world
With new and renewed hope.
May sunrise light,
Reflecting a glimpse
Of Your glory and goodness,
Remind us we are to be luminaries
In every place we walk, work, and witness.
Thank you Father,
For Your Son, Your Spirit,
And the daily gift
Of sunrise light.
