Father in Heaven,
We thank You we live
Where public utilities are consistent.
Heat, water, and power form a foundation
For reliable work and rest.
We are thankful for heat in the cold of winter.
May the warmth of our homes be a reminder
Of Your gracious provision and care.
May we have concern and compassion
For all who do not have
A place to remain warm.
We are thankful for access to clean and safe water.
We know for millions around the world
It is hard and daily work to have water.
May we be good stewards of Your world,
And grateful for the water
To quench our thirst and clean our bodies.
We are thankful for the availability of electricity.
Thank you for the power that makes
Commerce, education, and communication possible.
We pray for those where rising costs create anxiety,
And those who struggle to pay the power bill.
May our heat, water, and power
Be utilities we use wisely,
May they provide safety and security
For all our neighbors and neighborhoods.
