Neighborhood Churches
Father in Heaven,
May the churches in our neighborhood
Be neighborhood churches.
May we be present to both the people and the place
Recognizing where we gather is holy ground.
May we celebrate the uniqueness of our neighborhood,
And know the needs of our neighbors.
May we not only reflect Your goodness and grace
But reflect the people and place around us.
May we be known for our open door
To every neighbor in a time of need.
May we not only share geography
But creativity in collaborating with neighbors, neighborhood schools,
and nearby businesses.
May we steward every aspect of our location,
Caring for Your Creation and our environment.
May congregations with different expressions
Lean in and work toward the common ground of love and service.
May those who live across the street from the place we meet,
Be known by name, not just by house number.
May we remember rightly the Story of God
Is always the story of God, People, and Place.
May our church be local and personal
As local and personal is the Way of Jesus.
May our place of worship be rooted in love
For You, our neighbors, and our neighborhood.
