Father in Heaven and King of Kings,
We seek Your Wisdom,
Your Will, and Your Way.
In this election season
May we be known first as Your People
United under the loving leadership
Of the Prince of Peace.
May we seek Your Kingdom
Above any of our little kingdoms.
Help us resist any attempts to steal
Our affection and attention
To replace You at the center of our lives.
Grant us an overwhelming sense of being the Beloved
So that all our human loyalties, political preferences, and little loves
Are realigned and reordered
To serve You and love others.
Help us know our neighbors and know their needs.
May we creatively consider
How our vote can create flourishing
For the people and places around us.
May our hearts be moved by compassion.
May we not only see the suffering of others,
But be motivated to alleviate it.
Grant us eyes to see
How we may love our neighbor
In our ballot.
In this election, grant me Your vision
To use my voice and vote
To care for my community
And co-labor for Your Kingdom.
